Aren't I older than you?

You just started jumping earlier than I did, that's all... :P

Hi all. Doesn't seem like this thread has been used in a while but I figure it's as good a place as any to introduce myself.
I'm Kevin. Did the FJC on Saturday with Derek and jumped on Sunday with Steve. That was my second jump as I did a tandem a couple weeks back with Angus. I love it! I can't wait to go again! (As you can see, I'm reading forums instead of working.) Anyway, just wanted to let you all know I'll be back. That's a promise. (or a warning...you decide.)

Some family think I'm crazy, some think I'm brave.. I just know I can't wiat until I can Jump again!

My name is Kim, and I was the sole, and lone member of the FJC this past wekend with Alek. my Hubby came and watched, and patienly, while reminding me that I was psycho, waited around while I waited for and took a second jump with Derek. Thanks guys, for everything over the day!

and thanks everyone else, hopefully you'll all see me more as time, money and weather permit over the summer!

Hey guys!

Well, I'm not too sure how often this forum gets used, but thought I'd give it a shot. I'm Carly, and I'm a recent business grad from TrentU and am now working as a Case Manager at Tax Audit Solutions. I will be turning 23 in a few short weeks and as a b-day gift, my loved ones have purchased my oneth (i don't get the BEER thing when you type the F word, but whatever ;) ) skydiving experience ever for me and I couldn't be more pumped. However, as much as I've always wanted to go skydiving, I'm a little nervous and am not a fan of heights (doesn't make sense, I know - but then again I hated all things math and finance and wound up in accounting...go figure). Anyways, I figured getting to know some people who go skydiving on a regular would help calm the nerves. Any tips? I've got a feeling after my oneth jump I'm going to be an addict... lol

Cheers!

Hello Carly and Welcome to Parachute School of Toronto!

I can tell you that this will be one of the best experiences of your life - and quite an accomplishment considering your fear of heights. I too had a hear of heights but don't worry it doesn't really kick in. When you are in the plane looking down you're too high to comprehend the height so it just looks like jumping out onto a map. By the time that you're low enough to understand the height you've been under canopy for a couple of minutes already and are too busy enjoying the ride! I was hooked after my first (BEER!) jump and 5 years and 550 jumps later I'm still doing it :)

When you're at the dropzone ask us about the "F word" and why it's a beer thing.

Bring your friends and feel free to stick around as once the sun goes down there's always a bunch of fun people around and activities to be had (with free beer from people who had to use the F word) and plenty of camping space available.

We look forward to seeing you!

Hey Carly! I completed my second, and previous, jump back in June, and started out much the same as you: Loved ones had given me a certificate for my 29th birthday back in February. I'll attest that from the time I was under canopy before my second jump, I was loving it. WishI was back there several times since then, but alas it hasn't worked out just yet!

It Will, though.. I promise it will!

So the day finally comes and they are forecasting t-storms. DAMN YOU, MOTHER NATURE!! I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed and hope the DZ is in some force-field protected pocket that won't get the rain, the storm, and the low clouds.

Just had to post a thank-you here to everyone at the DZ. I had a hell of a time and loved every second of it. I can't wait to go again! Angus, thank you for keeping me safe.

Much love!
